A Primary School English teacher is required to teach within Grades K-4. Starting in Kindergarten to grade 4, our classes use the Cambridge International program alongside the Ministry of National Education. Our students are assessed in English as a second language and the department uses various performance tasks to evaluate and measure student progress in their primary school educational journey.
The teacher will be responsible for preparing extra materials to further help their students outside of the classroom. In addition, the teacher will work with a co-teacher and follow their students' progress in our student support program.
The position will be to teach several different levels within the Primary school program. There is an expectation of the candidate to be able to teach in all grade levels.

Summary of Main Responsibilities
Design units plans, daily lesson plans, and evaluation tools that are aligned with the Cambridge International ESL standards, Ministry of Education standards, and the school mission and SEL goals
Deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction that responds to the needs of the diverse learners in the class
Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students throughout each unit of study
Maintain high standards for learners and provide the support and scaffolding to help them achieve those standards
Assess student learning in a variety of ways, adapt teaching based on the information gained, and monitor and evaluate the progress of students who are not meeting standards
Communicate regularly with parents to ensure they are informed of their child’s development in English
Work collaboratively with all members of the department and administration
Participate actively in the life of the school by attending events and leading extracurricular activities
Any other duties as requested by the school leadership team

Required qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and professional teaching qualification is required.
A minimum of three years of teaching experience in Primary school is essential.
Foreign Teacher Candidates applying within Turkey: Certification of Diploma Equivalency from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)
Foreign Teacher Candidates: Passing exam score from TOEFL IBT, CAE, PTE Academic as required by the Ministry of National Education
Knowledge, understanding and experience in the teaching of the Cambridge International program is preferred.
A proven commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people is required.
